Baby News! It's Gonna be a.....

To Sofie: Sometimes in life we don't get what we want. There will be no baby brother named "Sexy." There will be no baby brother at all. It's gonna be a GIRL!! Thursday's ultrasound makes that clear. Joyous news greeted joyfully by all of us...including Sofie, I'm pleased to say. Now begins the name game....
The doctor appointment went well and a tour of the preferred maternity hospital was scheduled that afternoon. We took a taxi to our new hotel to settle in and have lunch first.
It is a real charmer, the Albert Court Village Hotel, a renovated block of colonial era buildings divided by a cobblestone pedestrian street lined with shops and restaurants on the edge of the Little India section of the city. Quaint! Beautiful! Old style surroundings with modern hotel rooms and amenities for half the price of the airport hotel. Our two rooms are ground level with windows facing an interior courtyard with a trickling zen fountain streaming through it adorned with tropical foliage.
Again, we only have a night's stay here because we have great adventure in store beginning Friday on a nearby island. More on that later.
In the afternoon we taxied to the Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital not far from our quarters.
Sofie always strikes a pose.
Wow! Modern, first class, and a recently established hospital with a marble lobby entrance and hotel feel. We arrived in time to take a group tour with 6 or 7 expectant couples. I was the sole matron grandmother in the group. We visited a labor and delivery room, a standard private patient room, the nursery, and then toured the penthouse to view a luxury suite with separate living room and private balcony patio. We probably won't upgrade to that level. The standard package is quite nice and sufficient...and half the price!
Large private balcony for penthouse patients.
We took the patient orientation folder, brochures and registration forms with us to review, complete and submit later. Hapny seemed pleased by what she saw and it's a good bet this will be the birth place of my next grandbaby, Blossom Clover! That is my first name proposal, which is what my big brother Randy wanted to call me when I was born! It was the name of the skunk in Disney's "Bambi." My mother vetoed the choice and I suspect and hope that Hapny will be of like mind. Although, it's a better moniker than "Sexy," I think.
