I'm on my way and have had smooth sailing to LAX, the first leg of my trip.
Yesterday, I finished packing by four o'clock, which was fortuitous, since I hosted an impromptu farewell gathering in the evening when three dear friends asked to drop by. We polished off the open box of Cabernet with a frozen pizza and chips. Thanks, Carol, Maryllew, and Beverly (who deserves special thanks for being my ride to BNA this morning)!
I left Nashville at 6:30 am and enjoyed having a window seat with two empty seats next to me, so I was comfortable with my legs elevated and extended.
I did not forget to wear the compression knee high stockings to avoid DVT (deep vein thrombosis) which I read about in the in flight magazine. My Delta flight to Tokyo NRT leaves in a couple of hours, but I will likely wait until I jump the pond before I post to the blog. I don't want to spend money for the pricey airport WiFi. ;)
Nevermind that last.... Killing time at LAX has cost me five bucks!
