Thursday, April 10: Thirty hours is a long time to be traveling and mostly sitting, but I'm thankful to be at my destination safely and without swollen feet!
I was only able to get less than an hour or so total sleep enroute, but felt energized by the anticipation of being with my family again after more than 8 months. We enjoyed a brief late night reunion at the plush Crowne Plaza hotel at Changi Airport, which Aron had booked for us to accommodate my post midnight arrival. They had flown in earlier in the day from Bali. We are moving to a different, less pricey inn tonight.
I welcomed the late night luxury of a relaxing hot soak in the tub, but glad to have a private room since the bathroom was entirely visible through a glass wall next to the bedroom! Aron said their room was the same! Awkward! For $400 a night per room, I think guests should be provided complete privacy! Maybe I'm just old fashioned....
This morning we enjoyed the full service buffet featuring global fare to satisfy any taste preference. I stuck with traditional eggs and bacon. I've come to expect excellent coffee in southeast Asia and I was not disappointed. After breakfast, Aron and Hapny took a taxi to meet Dr. Cathryn Chan, the obstetrician who will deliver OUR BABY. I asked Sofie if she preferred a baby brother or sister. Without hesitation she said she wanted it to be a boy. "What name should he have?" I asked. Her reply? "Sexy!" Well, that is certainly different. More on that later....
While Mom and Dad were at their appointment, Sofie and I spent a couple of hours enjoying the pool and each other. It felt good to be Mumu again!
I want that bathroom in my home!!! :) Funny. Sounds like you are having a wonderful time...hope that continues! Lovely family.
